AirplaneHQ can help make logbook pages searchable and surface possible maintenance evidence. It is deliberately designed to keep consequential changes behind authorized human review.

What happens to a page

A review-first pipeline.

    Original preserved

    The source upload is stored as an aircraft document. Derived pages do not replace it.

  2. 02
    Human page review

    An authorized user rotates, reorders, removes, and places staged pages before committing them.

  3. 03
    Local OCR

    Tesseract can extract text and word positions inside the application environment without an external AI key.

  4. 04
    Optional AI enhancement

    When enabled, a page image and limited relevant context may be sent to the configured AI provider for better extraction and candidate matching.

  5. 05
    Draft suggestion

    The result is stored as a pending label, region, rationale, extracted detail, and possible maintenance target.

  6. 06
    Authorized decision

    A person compares the suggestion with the page, edits it, and accepts or dismisses it. Accepted evidence can be undone.

When optional AI is disabled or no API key is configured, page images remain in the application’s configured storage and local OCR path. When enabled, the configured provider may receive:

  1. Confirm the aircraft and page context.
  2. Read the source image—not only extracted text.
  3. Verify dates, hours, identifiers, and handwriting.
  4. Confirm the maintenance target is the exact record supported.
  5. Draw the smallest useful region and use a factual label.
  6. Dismiss uncertainty or consult the controlling record.
