Our goal
AirplaneHQ’s target is substantial conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA for the public website and core authenticated workflows. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing product requirement rather than a one-time certification.
Practices in the product
- Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, tables, and form controls.
- Keyboard access and visible focus for interactive elements.
- Color palettes intended to maintain readable contrast and avoid color-only status communication.
- Responsive layouts for zoom, narrow screens, orientation, and larger text.
- Alternative text or decorative treatment for meaningful and non-meaningful imagery.
- Native iOS support for Dynamic Type, VoiceOver labeling, dark mode, and increased contrast as implementation and testing permit.
Known review areas
Complex calendars, charts, drag-and-drop document/logbook controls, modal workflows, generated PDFs, dense maintenance tables, and third-party operating-system handoffs require continued manual assistive-technology testing. Equivalent controls or support should be provided when a workflow cannot be completed accessibly.
Testing commitment
AirplaneHQ intends to include automated accessibility checks, keyboard review, screen-reader testing, zoom and reflow testing, contrast review, and physical-device testing in release quality gates. Findings will be prioritized according to user impact and workflow criticality.
Requesting help
When reporting a barrier, include the page or workflow, device, browser or app version, assistive technology, expected outcome, and what prevented completion. AirplaneHQ will work to provide the information or workflow through a reasonable alternative while remediation is evaluated.
